Dr. Martin Luther King- Letters From A Birmingham Jail
Civil War Project
Students were first divided into 2 groups, North and South (Union and Confederates) randomly. After an introduction to the Civil War I gave the class an outline (see attachment) of what I deemed to be the most important topics of the Civil War. In their groups students were asked to choose 5 individual topics to research and write summaries on, 2-4 paragraphs. After that initial assignment was done the class then had the option of how they wanted to display their research. They were given several options: Video recordings, audio recordings, drawing/animation, or summaries.. There are 3 parts of this assignment: individual summaries, choice display (video, audio, etc.) and the final group project, website. The website will be a compilation of each students work and their choice method of presenting it, summaries included. Individual rubrics will be given for each of the 3 parts of this assignment.
